I'm gonna be MIA this weekend, so yea, hv to post this up b4 Sunny Sunday:)
oh wells, it's the final week b4 Christmas break and all of us were so looking for this break coz it has been an intensive 3months of hospital work. Not that i have exams, but just need a break to rejuvenate..*excuses*! Hmm, we signed up for a private pharmacy attachment this week. Quite good i would say, coz we were thoroughly taught how the drugs are dispensed here and the roles of pharmacists, plus how to treat those drug abusers. It's so different compared to the pharmacy back home. And one of the pharmacist there even said studying pharmacy is actually tougher than medicine. I personally think it's true, for all the chemistry they have to learned...phew, hard work!

There are loads of pre-Xmas celebrations this week. It kicked off with the carol service in my St Gabs hall. learned smth new though, i.e the story of Christingle. This orange is decorated with a candle in the middle which symbolises Light- Light of the world(Jesus), a RED ribbon in the middle( blood of Christ), and 4 sticks of sweets- God will watch you over 4 different seasons, and the orange..cant rmb anymore:P but i think it's smth related to Christ. Interesting yea? Never see this in Malaysia though:) Christingle

St Gabs Carol group:)

Brrr, we were asked to go out to the garden and sing 'We wish u a merry Xmas' with our Christingle...and we were freezing out there!

Deco in my hall:)

Then Wednesday night is our Hall formal dinner..oh all dinners organised, i must say, Xmas is the most grand one, maybe it's the biggest celebration for the British, i guess. anyway...pics:)

We were served red and white wine for dinner! Crackles..with small little gift:) Pop pop POP..
Lily n Angie..see the deco on the table..amazing.
:) YEA, we had wine:) Just a bit!
We were served with Turkey+cranberry sauce. This is just a small portion. Each table were given a whole tray of turkey, baked potatoes and Vege! Oiiishiii..
Dessert: Christmas pudding*_*
Nativity play...in a comedy way..good job!
the narrator ended the play by saying, if u wanna know the ending of the story, u MUST read the book...(bible)
When the narrator mentioned the STAR, Raegan cat walked out like a star..but wat the narrator really meant was the STAR she was holding! Muakakakak! The committee organised a Murdered Mystery game after the dinner, this is the body..guess who is the murderer?! i didnt join them though, too tired:Pcheers! After dinner, we had our SS moment in my room:Panother shot
Shah is so....ganas:) but cute-nyer!

and finally, me and my new corner in my room, with loads of newly developed pics and Christmas cards:) thankies!! (ignore my rounded face:P)

There was no SF this Thurs, instead, Joanne threw a dinner at her house:) Nice and cozy, with Bak Kut Teh...yum yum YUM for this winter.

the HOST and her Christmas tree:)

in a ChristmasSy mood:)

It has been a busy week, loads of stuff to prepare. BUT, it's definitely the joyous week since my stay here:)

The week kicked off with tonnes of clinical teachings, lectures, PBLs..as usual:) but it's definitely good, God answered our prayers, the consultants whom we never talked to unexpectedly willingly taught us some interesting stuff and even the interviewed in the ward is a GP himself! So as we took history from him, he even taught us, like how to find the abnormal findings when we did physical examination on him. Unexpected, yet happy to learn from them! We really want to keep ourselves occupied rather than wandering around in hospital doing nothing! MRI has been famous for that, where consultants are really busy and you're supposed to self learn! Argh..loads of teachings has been cancelled without prior notice too..just because they're too busy.. Kinda fed up at times, coz we paid so much for the tuition fees and this is what i get?!??!?
Oh wells, on Wednesday, we signed up for a Tissue Viability Clinic at Salford, erm, 45 minutes by tram(woohoo, it's the first time Lily n i took the tram, super blur case ler.) Thank God for google map, we managed to find our way there:) Basically, this clinic are run by the specialist nurses, the vascular doctor comes in once a week only. These nurses do all the dressing on chronic wounds and also ulcers. It's a very specialised field i must say, but it's indeed eye opening for me cause we seldom have a chance to observe how they handle these wounds in proper ways in big hospital like MRI, esp we're now in Renal ward. Satisfied!

Christmas party by Student fellowship on Thursday! It's the final meeting for the group and so we decided to have Chinese food plus gift exchange:)clockwise: Roasted duck, prawn crakles, fried chicken, fried rice
clockwise: sweet and sour ribs, vege, egg noodle, curry chicken!
the many presents:)

this is wat i got! And the summary of this book is: Jaw dropping and hilarious, it reveals the naked truth about sex, love and relationships, and getting what you exactly want! In short, it's about how this guy managed to pull any gurls he wanted! Based on true story..huh, am gonna see the true colors of guys...! the tricks they will use on gurls.

Meet MOokiko:) it's Leonard's gift, but i LOVE it...*hint hint* anybody who spotted this thingy, please buy for Angie..coz Leonard still have no idea who gave him this present!

yes..it's Joanne Chan!

Picture time!!

my SF:)

Sunday(a.m)- The 4 musketeers(Lily, Shahira, Mayurah and Angelene) from St Gabriels decided to join Santa Run! It's a charity run to raise fund for some charity organizations. The trick here was that all of us have to run in santa suits..Everyone of us were given a set of santa suit upon registration. And we have to run one mile around the Old Trafford Stadium! We walked, we ran and we TOOK PICTURES!!!! And guess who we saw.....see the pics below:) apparently Man Utd reserve team was there too, but they're too young to be known! Nobody bothered to take pics with them..poor thing, who knows one of them will be famous once day:P oh wells....let the pics do the talking larr..
Lily*Angie*Mayurah*Shahira! the SantaS on the run..

whewwik..with our janggut:)

so MANY santaS in one place..

look who was being interviewed...we're stalking him=D

YUP, we got to take pic with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (to be honest with you, i dun even know who this fella is, saw so many busy taking pics with him, and so i kepo n went..who knows, he is the LEGEND in Man Utd)!
Angie memang blur lor, the so called 'hardcore fan'...sigh!our medal!! *not as nice as Liverpool Santa Dash*, but at least we have the Man Utd logo on it!

the goodies:) a limited edition muffler, medal, ManUtd poster, chocs and santa suit!!!

Friday and Saturday were preparation nights for the upcoming carol service on Sunday:) Theme this year was 'Jesus is our HOPE'. Student Fellowship was in charge of almost the whole celebration, from the decorations, booklets, door gifts, to the carol worship singing, drama, and also the cooking of the DINNER which consists of appetizer(Prawn salad), Main dish( Turkey or gammon with vege n potatoes), and dessert( choc cake)!!We have to prepare those. So, the day b4, we have to cut those vege, potatoes, get ready all ingredients and also practise singing those carols n skit! with the little manpower we had, we still manage everything well, by God's grace:) Yup, the event just over and i must say, it's been a great success:) Tiring, but fulfilling esp serving God in this way! With a small group of people, we can do great things when God is in it! Hip Hip hooray for God's power*_* (am sorry, not many pictures though, we all were too busy:)

Gurls in black! Waitresses...

Pastor Kim, opening his present given by the SF, youths and elders. It's a DELL computer:) Think he really needs one. :)

Good job guys..Hard work, but pleasing to God yea^_^

^_^

it's THE time to blog again...SUNDAY SHINE!!!
wokay....here we go:
Monday and Tuesday always started off with bedside teachings, plus some lecture here and there and PBLs...nothing really interesting happened coz i'm currently in a medical ward, compared to last time when i was in a surgical ward, in which i got to go theatre to see surgery being done. Oh, but we saw this patient who has cerebral vascular disease with diabetes. He has slurred speech and weakness at the left side..The consultant taught us to do some CNS examination and could really see the brisk reflex and wat not. It's so true that learning from a real patient helps us to remember their presentations better compared to pure memorising from text books:)

And on Thursday, i signed up for this podiatry clinic in the city. Basically, this clinic looks after patients' legs only..This clinic mainly concentrates on nail surgery on those ingrowing toenails. Collete, the person in charge was so nice...she went through the whole procedures with me, showing all the instruments used and even WROTE DOWN everything steps in black and white for me! So in the end, i have a whole stack of notes diseases of the legs:)since it's a private clinic, most of the customers are younger generation coz those older generation would prefer to go NHS for free treatment! Private wise, the consultation fee is super EX! For example, they offered a service to scrape off dead skin underneath the sole of ur leg, and help you cut your nails..this itself cost 32 pounds for half n hour service! As for the nail surgery, it's 200 pounds!! No wonder ppl would prefer to go NHS and get free treatment yea albeit the long waiting list. oh wells, i had a good time here..at least i roughly have an idea what these podiatrist do!

the clinic i was attached to. It's called C2Feet. C2- it's becoz the 2 podiatrist are called Claire and Collete. And also, c=see, which means see 2 feet(podiatry)! Creative right?!
weekends!!!
We had a guest this week..and he is TROY!! Jiang Jiang Jiang Jiang....but poor fella, he is sick, flu n sore throat:( but still, we brought him to the Christmas Market..yea i went again:) Just love the atmosphere there...everything is so pwetty..esp the salivating FoooooD! anyway, here are some pics..
the MEN and their hot malt wine:)

Us..with the Huge Santa:)Kenneth and the Angel! *POser*!oh, we found the so called famous ice-ring just for the Christmas season! It's smaller than the one we have in Sunway larr...but TONNES of ppl were there skiing in that tiny little ring!:P

And on Sat...Christmas presentation practise...
oh, Carol Service is next Sunday! So the student fellowship has to come up with some presentation and we decided to go for a skit! Yup, Angie is on the act...and this time,i have to act as a bimbotic mother who loves party.!(Angie is a BIMBO now:P) To her, Christmas is just another occasion for her to have fun..and so, she has no time for her dearest daughter who earnestly wants her family to know about Christ Climax of the story is when the daughter was diagnosed with leukemia and died...things changed, when the family came to realisation that they're loosing this precious daughter(Angie has to cry AGAIN:'(emo)....daughter than shared that in Christ alone, her hope is found. Years passed, daughter died, transformation took place and the whole family accepted Christ! *that's roughly wat the skit is all about:)* Kinda similar to the sem 1 sketch we did in IMU yea, Denise?! oh wells, just hope the skit will touch hearts and connect to the sermon Pastor Kim is sharing, entitled 'Hope fot today' we will see..:) please keep us in prayer kay..thankies!

Lily on the action! eh, dun play play, she can sing kay..*silent night...*

bimbotic Mummy has to cry again...*dun leave me my dear:'(*

Dinner time, since Min is going back Malaysia next week, he decided to cook for us..Ayam masak merah and fried mushroom...Oiiishiii!! Thumbs up man! His cooking skill is real good! we ate until..slurp slurp slurp! Just have a look at the pics below...OMGiieee...i want to eat them now:P

Ayam masak merah..AWESOME! (He did dis from SCRATCH! no curry paste at all!)

Mushroom...delicious!

Aunt!!! Lily is frying omelet!! U must be super proud of her right:) dun worry, she is super independent now:) 3 cheers for her yea..hip hip hooray!

the crowd:) Troy*Lily*Min*Siti*Angie!
every time i see Troy, it reminds me of my younger bro..he is so like my bro! awww..i miss Gary!
after dinner, we 'lepak' at Min's green green room!
